Tree is up, Lights are on outside, Let Christmas begin!!

Here is our tree - I finished the bows this morning and thought I would take a picture. I dont know if I am liking the bows or not - Anyone that knows me knows that if I am not digging it - I may just change them.

We don't have a mantel so, I decorate up my buffet and my shelves - See the cute new jingle bell box that my mom made for me!! And the darling whimzy trees, that I thought on Thanksgiving were elf hats.. LOL!

Here are the lights out side, I put the camera on the night setting - well there is a delay in taking the picture...and it was cold and so I was shaking a little - sorry it isn't a clear picture!

My cute new porch trees - my new purchase this year - I just wish my front door was wide enough to put one on each side - of well - I made them work!

Merry Christmas everyone!!

The Truth

I found this quote on one of my friends blogs... it is awesome!

THE TRUTH
Anyone who imagines that bliss is normal is going to waste a lot of time running around shouting that he's been robbed. The fact is that most putts don't drop, most beef is tough, most children grow up to be just people, most successful marriages require a high degree of mutual toleration, most jobs are more often dull than otherwise.

Life is like an old time rail journey. . . delays, sidetracks, smoke, dust cinders, and jolts, interspersed only occasionally by beautiful vista, and thrilling bursts of speed. The trick is to thank the Lord for letting you have the ride.

What am I thankful for...

I have had the last couple of days off.. while I have been running around doing errands, catching up on things that have fallen behind, and doing things for the weekend coming up.
Just doing things at my leisure, has made me think.... I am so thankful for everything...

I am so thankful first and foremost for my family.. they make me stronger everyday! They make me want to do good things and be the best person I may be!
I am thankful for a husband, that does more for me than I will ever know, who never tells anyone NO and is always willing to help when helping needs done!
I am thankful for my two wonderful and amazing children! Both of them have such different personalities, they are unique, and I am proud to call them mine!
I am thankful for my parents! I honestly do not know where I would be today without them! Their patience with me, their prayers for me, everything that they do for me - I am thankful for!! They love for not for what I am...but who I am!! They have made me a better person!

I am thankful for a sister and brother who give me inspiration to be a better person daily!

I am thankful for my dear dear friends! I am so glad that my path has led me to such awesome and amazing people! If you would have asked me 10 years ago, who I would be my dear friends I would have never guessed the people that I have surrounded myself around!

Most of all, I am thankful for the knowledge that I have gained over the last 5 years! For the knowledge that I have knowing that I am my Father in Heavens daughter, that he LOVES ME! I am thankful for the knowledge that I have gained and continue to gain! I love the tender mercies that he sends to me and how he reminds me daily that he loves me!

8 going on 18 - seriously!!

So this morning - Aynsley is in the shower and taking FOREVER!! I am getting ready, telling her periodically - come on Aynsley, get out!
Well finally after about a 15 min shower she gets out. Wrapped in her towel she proceeds to get dressed, when I notice something on her leg. It looks like blood. So I walk over and ask her what in the heck is on her leg. She says "I don't know". As I look closer, I realize it is blood and where in the heck did it come from??
I then take her in and wipe it off... as I do that, I notice that it IS a cut. I ask Aynsley, "where did this come from?" She replies to me, "I don't know". I then tell her, "you have a cut on your leg and you don't know where it came from?" She then tells me, "NO".
I wipe off a 2nd cut and while I am doing that I hold Aynsleys leg and realize, wait her leg is smooth, wait - - that cut looks like a shaving cut.... I then ask my dear darling sweet Aynsley. "Did you shave your legs???" She then realizes she has been busted, and tells me "yes".

By now she is bawling - realizing she was caught, and she was wrong. I ask her - "have you shaved your legs before, how many times have you done this?" She then innocently tells me that she has done this a couple of times before, but this time I scared her in the shower and she cut her leg.
YES - my daughter who is 8 - shaving her legs!! And she doesn't need to - she still has peach fuzz!!
I then tell her - NO MORE SHAVING YOUR LEGS OR ANYTHING TILL JR HIGH OR EVEN LATER!!

I couldn't believe it! I don't know if I was more amazed that she had done it a couple of times before or if my little girl wants to grow up before she is ready too!!

I am so proud of my #77 - he is an awesome kid!!

Well it is official - FOOTBALL is over! As much as I wanted it to come to an end. I have really been sad today!
I love watching Ryan play. He has grown so much this year. It is so hard to believe that just 3 short months ago, he was coming home from Scout Camp and had a goal to make the "A" team!! He did it, it made me so proud as a mother to see him work hard this last summer with our dear friend Mike, and then to make the "A" team.
The change that I have seen in him from day one of practice to watching him walk off the field yesterday, I can sum it up in one word - AMAZING!! He not only was taught this year by his wonderful coaches, Scott and Craig. But he learned as well! He learned that through hard work, comes a reward! He learned that, he can achieve anything he sets his mind to do!
I am so looking forward to next years season. Next year will be our last in little league - then it is on to the big time - High School! Wow! He has already set a goal that he wants to be one of Mike's lineman in High School, and I am sure that he will achieve that as well!

Now as for me and what am I going to do now - Well lets see, I have 2 months till Jr Jazz starts, that is 6 weekends to do what ever I want! (I subtracted Thanksgiving and Christmas as those are busy). I think I will get the kids bedrooms decorated - FINALLY!! That is my goal anyway. And following in Ryan's example - I will achieve it!!
