At the ISE show - aka Ryans hunting dream show!

OK so we all know that Ryan is obsessed with anything to do with hunting and/or fishing. Once a year they have the International Sportsmans Expo. Each year Ryan bugs the crap out of Leo and I to go. He called me at work on Thursday morning and told me that we "had" to go on Thursday, because that was the "only" day that Adam Eakle was going to be there. After some assurance that Channel 2 was the major sponsor of the ISE show, and that Adam would be there everyday. (Adam is now Ryan's hunting hero - next to Shane - Adam does the "Roughin it Outdoors Show" he took the place of Doug Miller and Reece Stein, talk about falling into the perfect job!!).
So Saturday rolls around and we decided to load everyone up and head in to SLC to the show.
When you first walk in the entrance, there is the Channel 2 booth. No one is there, just a camera man. You can see Ryan is a little disappointed that Adam is not there to greet him. So we walk thru the show, we stop and see the little baby bears - Aynsley refused to hold it, she said Ryan is bigger so he should. I just think that she was freaked out because it was a bear.
We then keep going thru the show looking at boats and watching the archery competition. We then we decide it is time to head home. Ryan is really disappointed now, keeps whinning. Then on our way out, we see him - Adam Eakle himself. I grab the camera and tell Ryan to go and ask him if he can get his picture with him. He starts getting all shy. Then Natalie, my sister, goes with him up towards him and asks - "Can he get his picture with you?" Adam is more than gracious and says "Sure, but we have to go back here by my buck." While walking back he asks Ryan if he watches the show, Ryan replies "yes", He then asks him did you watch the episode when I shot this deer, did you see me jumping around when I got it?? All Ryan can do is reply "yes". Adam then asks Ryan, have you been hunting yet?, Ryan tells him No, and the peanut gallery watching has to explain, he just turned 12 and just completed hunters education. Adam then asks Ryan, do you belong to Boy Scouts, He replies again only "yes". Adam starts to tell all of us that he is on the right track, and that there is a rule in his house, no car, no driving license until you get your Eagle Scout. Good rule I think! Ryan poses for this picture with him an as you can see is grinning ear to ear! After the picture Adam tells Ryan to keep up the hunting and doing what he should and he can be where he is in just a matter of time. He told us that he loved hunting and fishing so much that could not wait till he was 16 to hunt on his own and loved being the camera man for Doug Miller. When Doug Miller died, they asked him to come out from behind the camera and he is now loving his job. But who wouldn't??? He has the best job in the world!
This was the highlight of the day for Ryan. He was in heaven!

No blogging for me

OK OK so I have been bad at this whole blogging thing. There really isn't any reason other than I am just lazy and haven't been on the computer. We did get a new lap top tho... so maybe now I will blog more...
Here are some updates on the family -
Leo - He is doing well, working hard on painting his moms house and next is the floor. He will get done with that just in time to work on our yard. Hopefully...
Ryan - He has been working hard to get his grades up. It is a big up hill battle. Today is the last Jr Jazz games, then he has 4 weeks till baseball (if the grades come up).
Aynsley - She has been busy with Gramma's reading challenge. She has to get thru the dark green books and Gramma is going to buy her an IPOD! She is doing so much better! She wants Spring to come as much as I do, I am constantly reminding her to quit wearing shorts and/or capris, it just isn't that warm yet.
ME- well I am in the middle of organizing baseball sign ups and tryouts. Being the league secretary keeps you busy this time of year. And then keeping up on all my meetings, homework, full time job. I am a little tired at night!

Well hopefully I will get better at this - I am going to take pictures at Jr Jazz today - I will post them later..
