It is my time of the year!!

Well Little League registration is over...... I am in the middle of making the spread sheets for try-outs next week..... A few of my friends have been posting on Facebook or their blogs that it is Opening Day here in Grantsville.
Reading everyone's posts and blogs..... well it kind of TOTALLY got me excited!!

I LOVE BASEBALL/SOFTBALL!!!

I love the sound of a baby laughing, and the smell of bacon cooking (you get my drift)

BUT

There is NOTHING and I mean NOTHING like the CRACK of a BAT!!
OR
The smell of the fresh cut grass, mixed with the smell of the red clay of the infield!! (if you have played you know what I'm talkin about!)

I do have to admit however - there is one thing I don't like about baseball, and that is the New York Yankees  AKA..... the EVIL EMPIRE or the DARK SIDE..

I don't like the way they do business plain and simple.

I LOVE BASEBALL - I LOVE EVERYTHING ABOUT IT!!
I have often wondered... do you think there will be Baseball in heaven?? I sure hope so!!

Knock Off Chilis Southwest Egg Rolls

I found this DELICIOUS and AMAZING recipe for a Southwest Egg Roll - It does taste very very similar to the Chili's appetizer.

2 chicken breast fillet, diced
1 red bell pepper, minced
1/2 cup onion
1 can corn drained
1 can black beans, rinsed and drained
1 small can green chilies
½ T parsley
½ t cumin
½ t salt
Dash cayenne pepper

cheddar cheese, shredded
Flour Tortillas

Avocado-ranch dipping sauce:
1 c. ranch
1-2 whole avocado, mashed
3 tablespoons chopped cilantro
Salt & pepper
Blend together with blender

Cook diced chicken about half way then add the diced red pepper, onion, cumin, cayenne pepper, and salt. Once chicken is cooked then mix all ingredients together in pan. Sauté all ingredients until warm. Remove from heat. Warm tortillas. Place ½ c. or so of mixture and cheese to taste inside a tortilla. Fold and roll completely together so mixture cannot escape. Place inside a panni grill or George Forman to grill and melt cheese. Serve with dipping sauce.

Painting **PAUSED**

Today - we are painting the laundry room -
WAIT - we pause this painting to clean up the garage floor..... CRAP!!

YES - the hubs got the power washer out immediately and washed off the garage floor - we do NOT have an AVOCADO colored garage floor -

Painting - un-paused now -  GAME ON!!  (do your Wayne and Garth voice here)

My New NO Sew Window Treatments

I have been home with nothing but time on my hands lately - waiting for interviews to come calling....
Well with all this time I thought I better make myself useful and finish some projects that I have been needing wanting to do.
I FINALLY completed my back door window treatments!! (it has only been 5 years in the making!)
You will never believe what I made them out of - a painters drop cloth!!!  Of course a clean new one...
And they are totally NO SEW!!
I saw one sort of like this on one of the blogs that I stalk read regularly.   I of course tweeked it a little to make it mine!

Here is the BEFORE (nice cooler on the deck huh??)

Then I took the drop cloth and cut it to size of my windows

Then I got out the awesome Heat and Bond and started putting it on the edge.
I am sure most of you have used Heat and Bond - first you use a HOT iron and for 2 sec with paper side up - iron it on the material, then once completely COOLED
Remove the paper and then fold over and iron the other side of fabric to the Heat and Bond - this time however - it is for 8-10 seconds with a HOT iron.

SO then I used Heat and Bond and made a pattern with some LIME GREEN - ORANGE and BROWN grossgrain ribbon. So far so good!

Then I made the Hubs hang the new hardware for the door- he LOVES it when he can use his power tools!!

And now WHAAAA LAAAA the AFTER!!!  drum roll please!!

I am LOVING THEM!!!  It was 5 years in the making - and 2 hours to complete! And only 30 bucks total to do!!  since I have to be cheap now - but I can do it - cheap and cute!!
